On Top of the World with Fur Coats

Although Winter is dwindling down slowly, we thought we would share one of our favorite winter fashion must-have. Nothing better than a fur coat! Stylish, chic and perfect for the colder months; fur coats are a great piece to have in your collection. They are the ultimate fashion statement no matter the color or texture.

Francesca is wearing an all black ensemble with her C. Wonder faux fur coat and her Stuart Weitzman Mezza Mezza boots. To add a bit of dimension to her look, she incorporates hints of gold in her Ray Ban aviators and hardware on her purse.

*Unfortunately, C Wonder stores have all closed. We can not link the fur coat. However here is a similar one: Similar C Wonder Fur Coat

Deena has gone for a lighter choice in faux fur, flaunting her incredible thrifted cream colored find with a pair of black Madewell skinnies. To complete her look, she threw on a few accessories including a muted Loft scarf, a classic pair of Ray Ban club masters and her Marc Jacobs bag.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Products

Marc Jacobs, a brand in the fashion industry that we all know and love, was created by famous fashion designer Marc Jacobs. The company is known for many things- bags, wallets, scarfs, etc. However, more recently the company launched their own makeup brand. The products range from eyes to lips with numerous palates and colors. Just how we fell in love with our Marc Jacobs bags and wallets, we fell in love with the makeup.

From left to right: Lovemarc - Lip Gel in 104 Dizzy Spell, Lovemarc - Lip Gel in 108 Have We Met?, Lovemarc - Special Addition 146 Cabaret

The Lovemarc Lip Gels and Lacquer Lips are two of our favorite products from the Marc Jacob's makeup line. The texture is creamy and velvety, leaving a soft feeling when put on your lips. Additionally, the wide range of colors is a plus. From deep purples to light pinks and oranges, the colors give a pop to any lip. The formula is generally long lasting but I would still throw the lipstick in your bag when you leave the house in order to reapply throughout the day. Although the lipsticks are pricey, they are worth it considering the enjoyable texture and variety in color.

The Marc Jacobs Perfection Powder is an amazing powder for setting makeup. All you need is a swirl in the powder with your brush and dust it all over your face and you will be ready to take on the day without your make up smudging. However, you don't need to use a lot of this powder otherwise it will leave a white cast over your face- something no one using make up wants. So while it is a good powder- don't over use it. Concerning the packaging, it is not our favorite. The entire powder fell out of the packaging after packing it away for a trip. Luckily, the powder was still intact and usable yet I would have preferred to avoid the mess altogether.

The Marc Jacobs O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara is probably one of the best mascaras I have ever used. It not only separates your lashes but gives them volume creating a perfect everyday laid back look.  Both the wand and formula make this a holy grail product! The Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon is incredibly pigmented and glides right on, the formula is also super creamy. A plus to the liner is that it is a twist up which means no sharpening!

Knits & Lace for Brunch in Brooklyn

What's better than a fall knit and lacy bralette? At the moment, nothing compares! We are obsessed with the chic look a black lacy bralette gives under a light colored sweater, particularly white and cream. Lace bralettes are also a perfect summer transition piece for fall, no matter the colour, paired with a chunky knit, you'll be sure to be right on trend. As mentioned in out Fall Fashion Essentials post, chunky knit sweaters are a must for fall because they are so easy to layer and keep you warm on those breezier days. Additionally, chunky sweaters pair great with black leggings, which is one of our essential looks for the colder months. As always, it's all about comfort and style.

Deena is wearing a cozy ensemble, pairing a textured knit pullover and a lace halter bra from Urban Outfitters with paneled black leggings from Zara. To tie in with her black leggings, she threw on a pair of black booties from Franco Sarto and her Marc Jacobs cross-body.

Francesca is wearing a comfy combination consisting of a chunky knit sweater and a black lacy racer-back bralette, both from Urban Outfitters. To complete her comfy ensemble, she wore a pair of black shiny leggings from American Apparel. Since it was a bit cold out on the waterfront, Francesca threw on a leather and brushed cotton jacket from Walter Baker.

Fall Fashion Essentials

Fall is officially here and is probably the best if not second best season in the whole entire year. Not only do you get to start sipping warmer drinks, but the fall fashion is impeccable, i.e. the sweaters and the booties. Fall is the type of season where you don't have to dress incredibly warm but you don't have to dress incredibly cold, it's right there in the middle. As the colder days approach with winter being just a few months away, lets cherish the turning leaves and the slight fall breeze, and push aside the treacherous snow and incredibly huge puffy coats. Sweater Weather here we come.

Chunky Knit Sweaters

Chunky knit sweaters are a necessity throughout fall. As the weather gets a bit chillier, it's too hot for huge puffers and lined parkas and too cold for tank tops and tees, so by adding a sweater to your fall fashion, not only will you be in trend but you'll be all cozy and warm.

Denim/Chambray Shirts

Topshop (Similar)
Denim and Chambray shirts are a great layering piece that you can wear under chunky sweaters or over a simple white top. Denim shirts can go in two different directions, casual and laid back with a pair of leggings or done up and on point with a cashmere sweater layered over and a pair of tall black boots. Denim shirts are also great if you're trying to stay warm because you can wear a tank or tee under and layer on a sweater on top with a leather jacket and you are instantly ten times warmer.

Darker Denim & Ripped Knees

Now that it's fall, it's time to transition to darker colours. Dark wash jeans are a must in the fall, they can transform any outfit from day to night and obviously summer to fall. You can either dress them down with an oversized cardigan or dress them up with white blouse and point toe heels.

Vests

Bcbgmaxazria
Vests are a perfect transition piece for fall because you can still wear 3/4 sleeved shirts and still stay warm with the comfort of a vest. Vest's are also great for the chillier days because you can pair them with a thick sweater and still stay warm throughout the pre-winter chills. As much as I love this leather jacket type zip in the front, I prefer vest with the middle zip for a more causal look when un-zipped.

Army Green Coloured Jackets

J. Crew
Military jackets are a very popular trend throughout the fall season, but if you're not so into full on vintage army jackets, you can take it down a notch with army green coloured jackets. You can wear thees olive coloured jackets with any outfits, whether you want to wear jeans or a simple LBD, these types of jackets are very versatile. With these types of jackets, since they aren't so heavy, it gives you the leniency to throw a vest on top to give a causal layered look.

Gold Watches

Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Amy Mini'
A watch is key for the fall, everyone is back in school or back at work, which means time is always on our minds. Not only do we strive to be on time, but we want the best arm candy, and a simple gold watch is a perfect way to spruce up a fall outfit. If gold isn't your thing, there's still silver and rose gold, both give the same affect.

Chunky Socks

All Urban Outfitters
This is self explanatory, but overly chunky socks are the perfect fall staple. Chunky socks not only give comfort but work with any type of boot, Ankle booties or thigh high boots.

Black Ankle Booties

Jeffrey Campbell
Black booties are a must this fall, from chelsea boots to cut-out booties, all are right on trend. Black booties give a sleek, put together look and can be paired with anything from jeans to a pair of tights and a skirt.

Tall Boots

Stuart Weitzman 'The Mezza Mezza'
Tall boots are another must-have shoe for the fall time, doesn't matter what colour you choose, black, brown or grey, pair them with either chunky socks or an all black legging. I prefer to wear these particular Mezza Mezza boots from Stuart Weitzman with black leggings and a chunky sweater, so it gives that my boots blend together with my leggings.  Last fall and winter, these were the only boots I wore because not only do they give a bit of height with the 1 3/4 inch heel, but they dress up any outfit, even if you're wearing a bagging t-shirt and yoga pants.

Dinner Date Anyone? | Momoya Review

Yesterday, the two of us went to a Japanese restaurant by the name of Momoya on the upper west side. Although it's not the fanciest of places we decided to throw together a dressier ensemble because who doesn't like to dress up every once and a while.
When going out to dinner with friends, whatever your dress up in you want to feel comfy and confident, with that a perfect pair of wedges gives you the perfect combination of comfy and confident. We all have that one bottom that we never get to wear a lot because it's too dressy for school or work, so why not wear it out to dinner with a simple top to caus' down the outfit.

Francesca is wearing a black butterfly back top with capped sleeves from Aritzia and a white skort also from Artitzia. To tie back into the black top, she wore black suede wedges from Charles David. The wedges give Francesca the height and comfort a pair of thin heeled sandals would.

Deena is wearing a red Zara skirt along with a Brandy Melville sweater to keep her warm in the cool restaurant. She paired her outfit with black wedges to add a little height in her step.

Momoya was definitely one of the better Japanese restaurants we have been to. The service was good and the waiters were very attentive. We were placed in a circular booth, which meant we were on the same side of the table, but it was comfortable, however the tables were a bit close together so we could easily hear the table next to us conversation. But, that wasn't really an issue and we had a very enjoyable time. There were booths that were a bit more secluded which we would've preferred. The food was set up beautifully and considering it was a higher end Japanese restaurant- the prices were reasonably priced. Overall, we would- and plan- on going back to Momoya.
